The food is always really good. They are pretty short staffed, but the lady who regularly serves us is great. She always makes my grandma fresh coffee. I try something different every time I go...it's been about ten times now...and I'm never disappointed. The prices are moderate, but you get an incredible amount of food.
This morning i order two burritos shredded beef and bean . No cheese. No egg .Well took three times to my order correct. Not happy with there service. .
If you want to spend two hours in a place with HORRIBLE SERVICE then this is the place for you.
At this point, I am livid. I demand an order of the shredded pork enchiladas with the hot green chili like I ordered to begin with TO GO.
We live in the neighborhood and go to La Morena's because it's convenient. It's always a hit or miss. We have had great food, and then there are times we have had terrible food. Same with the service. We have had wonderful service - (but those servers never stay long) and then there are those times they have completely messed up our orders. We see new faces all the time. Today we went for dinner (it's been a few months since we have been in). They really cut back on their servings. The guacamole tostada was all chip, piled high with lettuce. My margarita was served in a smaller glass, not the usual mason jar. I ordered an enchilada from the kids menu for my son and it was served to him without any sauce. I ordered sauce to put on the enchilada, and when we got the check, we noticed that we were charged 1.25 extra for the sauce. How do you serve cheese enchiladas with no sauce?!? It's like eating a cheese-stick with a fork. Tonight was our last straw...We won't be going back.
This was possibly the worst dining experience I have had in 10 years. The WORST SERVICE EVER! So after a few minutes the waitress got our drink orders. The drinks came about 5 minutes later. After we sat there for about 15 minutes the waitress returned to take our order. I asked for the special of the day, shredded pork enchiladas with the hot green chili.
Another 20 minutes go by. What do I get. Enchiladas with tomatillo sauce. I complain and 5 minutes later I get the hot green chili on the side. What am I supposed to do? Pour the green chili over the tomatillo sauce? I start to eat the enchiladas and the meat isn't shredded, it's in strips. And it tastes like beef, not pork. And then the waitress comes back about 5 minutes later and says that the kitchen made a mistake and gave me the steak enchiladas, not the shredded pork.
Can't speak to the bad reviews, there were only 2 tables as we got in around 11am, but the service was great and the food was surprisingly good. And we live in Mexico City so consider the source.
I would have rated this "negative" stars if it was a choice.
